Quail is a type of bird, kind of like a small chicken, and can absolutely be included as part of a Paleo diet. In fact, since the bird is so small, the bones are difficult to remove, but can be chewed, and you can’t get more Paleo than eating an animal whole!

The Nutrients

Quail is an excellent source of fat and protein, as well as various B vitamins, and minerals such as phosphorous, copper, and selenium (source). All of these are nutrients that are essential for maintaining our health, so if you manage to get your hands on some quail, go for it.
