Is Grouper Paleo?

Grouper is a member of the same family as sea bass and contains many of the same properties. It is a white fish with a mild flavor and flaky flesh. It is very high in protein and low in fat and much of the fat it does contain is the good omega-3 polyunsaturated fats we like for their anti-inflammatory effects.

The Nutrients

Aside from the fat and protein, grouper (like all fish) is also rich in micronutrients, include an array of B vitamins, magnesium, selenium, and iodine. Because of high demand, grouper is sometimes farmed, but it’s a relatively safe farmed fish as it tends to not to have high levels of mercury.
